Projects and activities
Žilina Rotay Club is one of the best and most active Clubs in Czecho-Slovak district. Rotary club Žilina is oriented on help to disabled and on Youth service. It is characterized by long-term projects.
Youth exchanges are the oldest and the most successful project of Rotary Club Žilina. They are ensured in 4 main categories:
- Sending Slovak students on long-term exchanges to the world.
- Hosting foreign students from all around the world.
- Organizing summer camps for foreign students.
- Organizing district events like „language course“, „ski-week“and „orientation meeting“ for foreign Exchange students during their year in Slovakia.
Main projects focused on disabled children and youth:
- Summer camp Stružielka is a project of Rotary clubs Ostrava and Žilina, which was established in 1993. Rotary Club Žilina has supported this program since 1995 and since 2000 it has been one of the main projects of the Club.
- International festival of creativity and fantasy Jašidielňa, which has been supported by Rotary Club Žilina since 1998.
- Autistic school for children with autism, which has been supported by Rotary Club Žilina since 2007.
Since 2001, Rotary club has organized Beneficial balls and since 2005 also Beneficial concerts, whose main target is to raise resources for projects of Stružielka, Jašidielna and Autistic school.
Rotary Club Žilina realized and supported also other avents.
